BP Chargemaster has made the first installations of its ultra-fast charging network, which is planned to have 400 ultra-fast chargers at BP sites across the UK by the end of 2021.
On 15 August, it confirmed two 150kW chargers had been installed at BP’s retail site at Cranford near Heathrow airport and will start operating this week. It is expected the technology at BP forecourts will provide an expected dwell time of 10-12 minutes. They are equipped with contactless payment and, as BP Chargemaster is operating them on the Polar network, can also be accessible through the Polar Instant smartphone app and for members of the Polar Plus subscription service.
Tufan Erginbilgic, Chief Executive of BP’s Downstream business, said: “Convenient and reliable ultra-fast charging will be critical in driving the wider adoption of electric vehicles in the UK.”
