EDF to help UK public sector transition to EVs

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has appointed EDF to aid the public sector in its ongoing transition to electric vehicle (EV) fleets.

The agreement, announced on 3 September, covers contracts to support the creation of the charging infrastructure required for EVs across the UK as it moves towards its 2050 net zero target. Customers in central government, local authorities, hospitals and other public sector bodies will be given access to products and services to support the installation of infrastructure, such as charge points.

EDF will work alongside Pod Point to deliver the infrastructure, supporting public sector bodies in enabling widespread use of EVs for public sector fleets and their workforce, home charging and vehicle charging facilities, providing a service to the general public in locations such as on-street residential areas and off-street car parks.
