Residents in Essex are being encouraged to learn how to make a difference to climate change and tackle fuel poverty through community energy groups.
Community Energy South has been commissioned by Essex County Council to help to deliver a wide range of support, including information provision, an online masterclass, information resources and group support. It will help groups to understand the technical, legal and funding issues within the community energy sector. In-depth group development and mentoring will help to form new community energy groups and lead to projects getting underway across Essex.
The masterclass is set to take place on December 3 and will include a step-by-step guide to setting up a community energy group, along with examples of projects that have taken place elsewhere. The project falls under Essex County Council’s strategy to address both the environment and climate change.
