BP Chargemaster has unveiled its new 150kW ultra-fast charger and will look rolling them out across the UK’s largest public charging network, Polar.
Launched at the Fully Charged LIVE event at Silverstone on Sunday 7 July, the Ultracharge 150 is expected to deliver 100 miles of range in 10 minutes. A total of 400 of the new 150kW chargers are planned to be installed across BP forecourts across the UK by the end of 2021, with 100 units targeted to appear on 50 sites by the end of 2019. They will be accessible for both pay-as-you-go customers along with those who have a subscription.
Shell has also launched a 150kW electric charge of its own as part of its on-forecourt electric vehicle (EV) charging service, Shell Recharge.
On Thursday 4 July, Shell said that the charger was now available at its Battersea Service Station. It is able to deliver power three times faster – depending on the vehicle model – than its existing rapid 50kW DC chargers.
