Local Energy Scotland has announced the launch of a new funding programme to improve energy consumer outcomes in Scotland.
Launched on 4 November, the Improving Consumer Outcomes Fund: Energy aims to develop practical innovations that can be adapted, adopted and scaled up by existing essential service providers. This will involve working in partnership with either, or both, third sector and community groups to deliver fair and inclusive access for consumers in vulnerable situations. The fund will target projects that seek to demonstrate new approaches and interventions that address specific examples of “intractable consumer harm”.
Up to £12,000 is available per project in the first stream of funding, delivered from January 2020 to March 2020, with projects having to demonstrate an innovative approach to energy services delivery and target vulnerable customers, among other aims. Applications are invited by 12 noon on 3 December 2019.
