Government looks to stimulate green transport tech with new funding round

The government has launched the 10th round of Transport-Technology Research and Innovation Grant (T-TRIG) funding, inviting innovative and tech-focused transport start-ups to apply.

Announced by the Department for Transport (DfT) on 24 September, projects that target carbon emissions, further improve air quality and increase infrastructure resilience will be able to bid for a share of almost £1mn T-TRIG funding. Targeted investments of up to £30,000 will be issued to successful projects with the funding aiming to help start-ups and academics bring their ideas to market quicker.

Minister for the Future of Transport, George Freeman, said that the scheme would enable the UK to keep its reputation as a “world-leading innovator”, while also presented an exciting opportunity to develop solutions to fix legacy problems across the country’s transport system and realise visions for the future.
