A £4mn Clean Growth Innovation Fund has been launched by Innovate UK and Engie in a bid to help fund projects that look to lead the energy transition.
The competition, announced on Wednesday 19 June, will fund projects that decarbonise, digitise and decentralise energy and subsequently lead to a sustainable transition to cleaner energy. Projects will receive government grants from Innovate UK and private investment from Engie – marking the first time an Innovate UK programme has seen private funding from abroad.
The first round of the competition is to close on Wednesday 14 August 2019, with total eligible project costs ranging from a minimum of £100,000 to a maximum of £1.2mn. However, consideration would be given for funding a project over the life of the programme worth £1.5mn.
