Kaluza has secured a battery storage integration partnership with energy storage specialist, Powervault, which will see Kaluza integrate its batteries into its flexibility platform.
The deal was announced at the EnTech event on 8 October and will allow for local grid operators to manage demand by making use of Powervault’s in-built device flexibility. The Powervault 3 devices are able to maximise energy savings by storing solar energy and cheap off-peak electricity from the grid. Customers will also see cost benefits, such as through being able to sell energy back to the grid as and when required.
Stephen Fitzpatrick, CEO and Founder of OVO Group – parent company to Kaluza – said: “Electrifying our grid requires a new energy system to connect every kind of smart device. Creating this diverse and distributed network will give customers more choice, more security and more value. Powervault is a pioneer in battery storage and we look forward to working with them, as we transition to an intelligent zero carbon grid.”
