KiWi Power grows energy storage portfolio with new addition

KiWi Power has announced that it has won a contract to operate and optimise Gresham House New Energy’s Lockleaze battery asset in Bristol.

The addition of the 15MW site, expected to be operational this month, now means that KiWi Power’s energy storage portfolio is on track to hit 80MW by the end of the year. It will oversee the site’s participation in the Balancing Mechanism (BM) while also optimising it against other revenue streams, such as ancillary services.

Ben Guest, Managing Director of Gresham House New Energy, said: “Energy storage technology is vital to maximising the potential of renewable energy and offers an attractive new asset class for investors wanting to support the UK’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future.”
