The North East has seen the launch of a new partnership that will look to catalyse an integrated energy system that can grow a “productive, clean economy for prosperous communities”.
On 9 October, the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) announced the launch of the North East Energy Catalyst. The Catalyst will aim to coordinate the region’s energy innovation, demonstration and delivery capabilities, both onshore and offshore, to develop and showcase solutions to global energy challenges. Partners will work on projects to tackle major energy challenges delivering on national strategies alongside supporting efforts to drive decarbonisation and economic growth in the North East.
The Catalyst will look to invite and coordinate engagement with industry and business, promoting opportunities available in the North East, with the goal of diversifying and commercialising new solutions, while delivering regional growth and energy sector employment.
