Pathfinder Clean Energy (PACE) has announced it has submitted its first UK subsidy-free solar projects into planning to local councils in Norfolk.
The projects, both located on agricultural land, total 40MW and could provide enough power for more than 12,500 households while reducing CO2 emissions by around 10,000 tonnes annually. Both projects – one situated in north-east Dereham and the other in Burgate, north of Norwich – will also have the ability to co-locate energy storage. Subject to planning and financing, both projects are earmarked to enter operation during the middle of 2021.
PACE currently has a development pipeline of over 1GW of solar projects, both in the UK and overseas. It is targeting construction of over 300MW of projects in the UK over the next three years.
