Norfolk’s RAF Marham to go green

RAF Marham in Norfolk has finalised a power purchase deal with Future Biogas for a nearby anaerobic digestion plant. The Swaffham generator is anticipated to supply close to 95% of the base’s electricity demand and reduce the Ministry of Defence’s emissions by 14,000 tonnes per year.

With reported savings on electricity bills anticipated to be around £300,000 per year, Tobias Ellwood, Minister for Defence People & Veterans said: “The biogas fuel is a truly green and sustainable solution, helping us tackle climate change, support the local economy and save taxpayer money”.
