Statkraft has announced that it has acquired the entire shareholding of Airvolution Clean Energy, as it pursues its goal of deploying 600MW of onshore wind and solar in the UK.
On 21 August, Statkraft said the UK developer had been working exclusively on its behalf since October 2017. It had identified, secured and brought forward project opportunities in Scotland. The deal agreed will see the Airvolution team move in-house into Statkraft’s growing UK base, with its Glasgow office retained and set to double in size as new staff start in September.
David Flood, Managing Director of Statkraft UK, said: “We have been very impressed with what Airvolution have achieved in a relatively short period of time through our development partnership for Scottish onshore wind projects. Bringing the team in-house is a natural progression of that partnership, significantly strengthening our ability to deliver against our ambitious targets for the UK.”
