Western Power Distribution (WPD) has entered into a commercial partnership with flexibility platform Piclo, allowing it to enhance the visibility of its 184MW Flexible Power tender.
WPD is looking to provide the 184MW across 17 zones, which all have a need within 2019-20, with ongoing needs to 2023-24 also signposted. The tender will close on 20 September and follows a previous 93.4MW that was sought across 12 locations. The new round includes parts of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly which will also see WPD work alongside Centrica on the Cornwall Local Energy Market.
Ben Godfrey, Network Strategy Manager at WPD, said: “Further collaboration between WPD’s Flexible Power and Piclo will help develop the co-ordination required to allow providers of demand side response services to have multiple routes to participation and access wider markets.”
